staff, alerting staff to on-hands counts (including Happy Hour when applicable), and inputting counts into Toast as needed. Peak Shift Help support staff as needed in the moment- this can be anything from rolling silverware to expo, hosting to bussing. Our goal is to balance providing a memorable experience for the guest and turning tables. If we need to seat tables or bus them, there is no such thing as, "not my job". Play host- fill waters, check on tables, run food, pre bus, subvert any potential guest issues. Provide comps, reasonable substitutions. Run credit card payments, drop checks, etc. Drive the flow of service, and direct staff to help meet daily goals. Play a supportive role for staff by staging food for pickup, expediting, asking where they need help and fill the gaps. Remember to keep an eye on the bar, as well. Keep support staff busy- there is always something to do- wipe down menus, clean the windows, walk and check for cobwebs, clean the entry area, etc. Package to-gos for pickup. Using best practices, address any guest issues in the moment. Note any service issues we may need to address after peak (rickety bar stools, broken soda guns, etc), log in manager log. Post-Shift Recap any employee concerns, maintenance or guest issues, personal observations, helpful solutions in manager log at the end of every shift. Supervise EOD duties, maintaining standards for shift resets. Count cash drawers, fill out EOD paperwork, confirm lights, fans, kitchen equipment are all off. Lock up. Other duties TBD.
