Rancho Cucamonga, CA Schedule:
Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM•12:00 PM. Every Other Friday 6AM-10
AM Compensation:
$21-25/hr My Healthy Penguin® is expanding our catering operations and looking for a reliable, experienced Catering Cook, Shift Lead to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, excels at batch cooking, and enjoys hands-on work that goes beyond the kitchen. What You Will Do•You will oversee and participate in:
Batch Cooking:
Prepare high-volume recipes consistently and efficiently according to established standards, and recipe cards.
Daily Catering Execution:
Pack orders, ensure accuracy, and lead in the packaging and loading of catering items.
Drive & Deliver:
Safely operate a company vehicle to deliver meals to client sites on time.
Set Up On-Site:
Professionally set up catering displays in accordance with set up SOPs, maintain presentation standards, and interact with clients as needed.
Maintain Kitchen Standards:
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and quality guidelines.
Support Team:
Work closely with our Head Chef and other kitchen staff to keep operations running smoothly
Monday-Thursday Inventory:
Able to manage inventory and update available stock lists, understanding of safe storage, FIFO, and food organization practices. What We're Looking For Experience in batch cooking (required) Strong understanding of food safety & kitchen protocols (required) San Bernardino County Food Handlers Card required, California Food Manager Certification (Strongly preferred) Ability to lift 40-50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods Valid driver's license + clean driving record (required for company vehicle use) Reliable, punctual, and able to start at 6:00 AM Friendly, professional demeanor when delivering and setting up catering Ability to work independently, with minimal oversight, and able to manage the work flow of yourself and other prep cook in a strict time frame.
