GSOC Shift Lead/Operator Exlog Global - 4.7 Redwood City, CA Job Details Full-time $34 - $40 an hour 16 hours ago Benefits Health savings account Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Military Process improvement Dispatching Documentation tools Adaptability Law enforcement Full Job Description About the role: The GSOC Shift Lead/Operator oversees day-to-day shift operations within the Global Security Operations Center, providing hands-on leadership to GSOC Operators while remaining actively engaged in monitoring, dispatch, and incident response. This role serves as the primary point of escalation during assigned shifts and ensures consistent, high-quality execution of GSOC protocols, procedures, and reporting standards.
NOTE:
This position is as a Shift Lead/Operator hybrid position. The shift schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 8:30am to 5:00pm ($40 per hour as GSOC Shift Lead) and Monday and Friday, 5:30am to 1:30pm ($34 per hour as SOC Operator).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate shift operations, assigning tasks and prioritizing workload across GSOC Operators to ensure consistent coverage and response readiness.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for critical incidents, high-priority alerts, and complex situations requiring rapid decision-making.
  • Monitor and manage global security systems including access control, video surveillance, and alarm platforms (e.g., LenelS2, Genetec, Magic Monitor), stepping in directly during high-volume periods or Operator absences.
  • Provide real-time monitoring and analysis of security alerts, incidents, and global events using tools such as Factal and Ontic, and guide Operators through triage and response.
  • Dispatch and coordinate responses to on-site security incidents, escalating critical issues to management, law enforcement, or emergency services as appropriate.
  • Review and quality-check badge audits, access reviews, and video retrievals completed by Operators to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Support and guide protective intelligence operations, ensuring threats and risks to personnel or facilities are properly gathered, analyzed, and reported.
  • Review incident reports drafted by Operators for clarity and accuracy prior to distribution, and personally draft reports for significant or sensitive incidents.
  • Communicate key updates, shift handoffs, and incident summaries to internal stakeholders and GSOC management.
  • Maintain heightened situational awareness of global events across the shift and proactively assess potential impacts on business operations.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to on-site physical security teams, and act as a liaison between the GSOC and other departments during the shift.
  • Create, maintain, and enforce GSOC documentation, SOPs, and intelligence briefs; identify gaps in existing procedures and recommend improvements.
  • Onboard, train, and mentor new GSOC Operators, and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to shift staff.
  • Manage shift scheduling needs in real time, including arranging backup coverage for sick days, PTO, or other unplanned absences.
  • Track and report on shift-level metrics, recurring issues, and trends to GSOC leadership.
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in a GSOC, security operations, military, law enforcement, or related security role, including at least 1+ years in a lead, supervisory, or training capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.
  • Familiarity with security platforms and tools such as: ○
Access Control & Video:
LenelS2, Magic Monitor, Genetec ○
Threat Intelligence & Monitoring:
Ontic, Factal, NC4, similar
  • Strong situational awareness, sound judgment, and critical thinking skills under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience communicating with senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to make timely, high-stakes decisions during critical incidents.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and incident management tools.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule when coverage is needed (e.
g., call-offs, emergency shifts), and willingness to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
