Shift Lead The Picnic Basket Local Sourcing | Sustainability | Food & Community https://www.thepicnicbasketsc.com/ The Picnic Basket is our beachfront cafe located near the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. We are fast paced, and dedicated to simple, delicious food and treats, sourced from local farmers, foragers and food artisans! We are looking for people who believe in our mission of making quality food for the public and delivering exceptional customer service. As a Shift Leader, you will create an excellent customer experience by working the register, making tea and coffee drinks (proudly serving Verve Coffee), and making breakfast items and salads and sandwiches. You will also be responsible for developing a comprehensive understanding of our menu items. In addition to providing excellent service and making quality food, you will be a leader and role model for other staff. You are responsible for maintaining the flow and presentation of the shop, and holding the team to our high standards of excellence in food production, cleanliness, and guest service. The Picnic Basket is open from 7:00AM to 4:00PM daily. Requirements Experience in customer service or food production in a high volume location is preferable. Ability to lead a team, and work as a team player. Ability to effectively communicate and prioritize. Ability to work and think critically in a fast-paced environment. Desire to learn more about locally sourced food and sustainable business. Available for at least 20 hours a week on a reliable basis. Available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
