is seeking an energetic, dependable, and detail-oriented Team Lead to support our catering events, pop-up events, and kitchen preparation operations. This is a hands-on leadership position. The Team Lead will work alongside the team while helping coordinate food preparation, event setup, buffet service, replenishment, breakdown, and cleanup. The ideal candidate takes initiative, communicates effectively, works with urgency, and remains organized in fast-paced environments. You will play an important role in maintaining our standards for food quality, cleanliness, professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional guest service. Duties and Responsibilities Lead catering, pop-up, and kitchen preparation teams during assigned shifts. Delegate responsibilities and ensure all tasks are completed correctly and on time. Assist with food preparation, cooking, packaging, transportation, setup, service, and cleanup. Oversee buffet presentation, food replenishment, portion control, and overall cleanliness. Help ensure each event follows the timeline and service plan provided by management. Monitor food quality and presentation throughout service. Train and support new team members during kitchen preparation, catering events, and pop-ups. Promote teamwork, urgency, situational awareness, and professional communication. Monitor supplies and notify management when food, packaging, or equipment needs to be replenished. Help minimize food waste and ensure products are properly stored, labeled, and rotated. Maintain clean and organized kitchen, preparation, service, and storage areas. Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures. Provide professional and welcoming customer service. Communicate concerns, delays, shortages, or team-performance issues directly to management. Lead by example and remain actively involved throughout the entire shift. Qualifications Previous catering, banquet, restaurant, pop-up, food-service, or kitchen experience is strongly preferred. Previous leadership or supervisory experience is preferred. Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills. Ability to confidently provide direction while treating every team member with professionalism and respect. Ability to work efficiently and remain calm in a fast-paced environment. Must be dependable, punctual, and comfortable taking initiative. Must have strong attention to cleanliness, food quality, and presentation. Must be available for evenings, weekends, and select holidays based on event schedules. Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to events throughout Southern California. Must be able to stand for extended periods and safely lift and carry catering supplies and equipment. A valid California Food Handler Card is required or must be obtained before beginning work.
