This is a hands-on position for someone who loves great food, enjoys working with people, and takes pride in creating a beautiful, welcoming bakery environment. The Team Lead will help prepare and maintain the pastry display, keep the retail case fully stocked and looking its best throughout the day, and provide warm, energetic, and knowledgeable customer service. This person will also help keep the bakery organized and running smoothly while supporting the team wherever needed. What You'll Do Prepare and set up the pastry display case each morning Ensure pastries, baked goods, and retail products are attractively displayed and fully stocked Monitor the display throughout the day and replenish products as needed Provide energetic, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service Greet customers, answer questions, and help them choose products Develop a strong understanding of the ingredients and allergens in our products so you can confidently answer customer questions Accurately communicate product ingredients and allergen information without making assumptions Accurately handle customer orders, transactions, and special requests Package bakery products carefully and professionally Communicate product availability, daily specials, and featured items to customers Help coordinate the daily flow of the retail bakery Support opening and closing procedures Help train and guide team members on front-of-house standards and procedures Communicate low inventory, product needs, and customer feedback to management Assist with light bakery prep and other tasks as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting customer-facing bakery Follow all food safety, sanitation, and allergen-control procedures Maintain Dolce's standards for a dedicated gluten-free environment Required Qualifications Current ANAB-accredited Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) certification Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation Understanding of allergen cross-contamination and prevention practices Ability to follow strict gluten-free food handling and cross-contact prevention procedures Previous bakery, café, restaurant, food-service, or retail experience preferred Previous leadership or supervisory experience is a plus Strong customer service and communication skills Reliable, organized, and able to work independently Comfortable working in a fast-paced bakery environment Able to lead by example and maintain high standards during busy periods Helpful Skills Knowledge of baking, pastry, or food preparation Familiarity with common food allergens and ingredient labeling Ability to learn and confidently speak about the ingredients used in Dolce's products Experience working in a specialty food environment Experience answering customer questions about ingredients and dietary needs The Ideal Candidate You notice when the pastry case needs to be restocked before someone has to ask. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and work for extended periods Ability to lift and carry bakery products, boxes, and supplies Ability to bend, reach, lift, and move throughout the bakery and retail areas Ability to work efficiently in a busy food-service environment Schedule Part-Time to Start — Potential for Full-Time in the Future This position will begin as part-time , with the potential to grow into a full-time position as the bakery continues to grow and the right candidate demonstrates strong performance and reliability. Days and hours will vary based on bakery needs. The schedule will include a combination of morning and evening shifts . Morning availability is important for preparing and setting up the pastry display, while some evening availability is required for closing duties and ensuring the bakery is properly prepared for the following day.
