  • 80,000 Pioneer College Caterers is seeking an experienced, hands-on Food Service Director to lead our dining services operation at Wyoming Catholic College in Lander, Wyoming.

This position is an excellent opportunity for a food service professional who enjoys leading a team, building strong client relationships, and creating an exceptional dining experience within a close-knit college community. The Food Service Director has overall responsibility for the successful operation of campus dining, including the main dining program, Crux Coffee Shop, WMI training facility food service, and a medium-to-high volume catering program. The Director will lead salaried managers, full

  • and part-time employees, and a student workforce.

Key Responsibilities Provide hands-on leadership for all aspects of the food service operation, with a strong presence during meal periods. Recruit, train, supervise, coach, and develop employees and student workers. Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, customer service, sanitation, and food safety. Build positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, guests, and college leadership. Oversee catering and special events from planning and staffing through setup, execution, and breakdown. Manage food and labor costs, purchasing, inventory, payroll, cash handling, reporting, and overall profitability. Monitor staffing and production needs and ensure the operation is prepared for daily meal service and special events. Respond promptly and professionally to client and customer needs. Ensure compliance with Pioneer College Caterers' policies, procedures, and operating standards. The Director is expected to be highly visible and engaged in daily operations, particularly during meal service, while also holding managers and employees accountable for their areas of responsibility. Qualifications College degree or comparable professional experience. 5-10 years of relevant food service experience , with management experience strongly preferred. Campus dining experience is preferred but not required. Experience supervising, training, and developing employees. Strong knowledge of food service operations, food safety, sanitation, and cost controls. ServSafe and allergen certification, or ability to meet Pioneer certification requirements. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Comfortable working with spreadsheets, reports, and other basic business applications. Ability to work effectively with college students and develop a positive service-oriented team culture. Catering and special-event experience strongly preferred. Ability to work a flexible schedule when special events or business needs require additional hours. The successful candidate will be personable, outgoing, detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of the operation . We are looking for a leader who can anticipate and solve problems, delegate effectively, maintain high standards, and develop strong relationships with both the college community and the Pioneer team. Schedule & Position Details This is a 12-month position . The typical schedule is approximately 7:00 a.m

m., Monday through Friday , with weekends generally off. Catering events and other business needs will occasionally require evening or weekend hours. Relocation assistance is available. The position requires the ability to remain on your feet throughout the workday, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, and work in normal commercial kitchen environments, including hot and cold areas. How many years of experience do you have managing the financial and administrative aspects of a food service operation, including food and labor costs, inventory, purchasing, payroll, and/or budgeting? Do you have experience planning and executing catered events or special functions, including staffing, setup, service, and breakdown? This is a hands-on leadership position that requires a strong presence during meal service and may occasionally require evenings or weekends for catering and special events.
