Plantsville, CT Job Details Seasonal $19 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Employee discount Qualifications Customer communication Microsoft Outlook Outdoor work experience Spreadsheets Inventory management software Full Job Description Position Summary The Rentals Shift Supervisor is responsible for fitting, adjusting, and maintaining ski and snowboard equipment to ensure a seamless and enjoyable guest experience. This role serves as a shift supervisor and helps to maintain the organization, efficiency, and people in the rentals department during assigned shifts. This position requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, strong leadership, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced mountain environment. Key Responsibilities Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner Assist guests in selecting appropriate ski or snowboard equipment based on guest-provided information, including measurements and self-identified ability level, in accordance with established Internal Operating Procedures (IOPs) and manufacturer guidelines Assist guests with finding appropriate skis or snowboards Educate guests on equipment and proper use Adjust ski and snowboard bindings according to manufacturer guidelines Perform visual and functional inspections of all rental equipment Maintain a clean and organized rental shop environment Assist with inventory tracking and storage Report missing or damaged equipment to Rentals Manager and Equipment Control Coordinator Perform ski and snowboard waxing as needed Perform opening and closing responsibilities as outlined by Rentals Manager Administer employee coaching and disciplinary documentation in accordance with company policies Assign work and coordinate employee activities to ensure efficient operations Adjust staffing levels based on business needs, including releasing employees early when appropriate and/or calling in additional staff for coverage Complete required training as assigned by mountain leadership Accurately record all hours worked, ensure time entries are complete, and promptly resolve any discrepancies prior to the end of each pay period Other duties as assigned by mountain leadership Qualifications Must be 18 years or older Basic mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn Strong communication and teamwork skills Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and quickly able to learn new technology Proficiency with computers, POS systems, and inventory software Positive attitude and customer mindset Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays Must be eligible to work in the United States Successful completion of background check Work Environment & Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform repetitive physical tasks Ability to work in an indoor location subject to temperature fluctuations, drafts, and intermittent exposure to outdoor weather conditions due to frequent operation of exterior doors Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
