Job Description

Senior Food Service Lead We are seeking an experienced Senior Food Service Lead to support daily food service operations within a newly renovated kitchen featuring state-of-the-art equipment and updated food preparation technology . This role will provide hands-on support with meal preparation, kitchen operations, food safety, and workflow coordination while serving as a lead resource for the food service team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a school cafeteria, institutional kitchen, healthcare dining environment, or high-volume food service operation and will be comfortable leading daily kitchen activities while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and service. Key Responsibilities Lead and support daily food preparation and food service operations Assist with meal preparation, portioning, serving, and maintaining food quality standards Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Support inventory management, stocking, and organization of kitchen supplies Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment Assist with training and supporting food service team members Provide guidance and direction during daily kitchen operations Follow established recipes, menus, and food preparation procedures Ensure proper food handling, storage, and temperature control practices Support a positive customer service experience for students, staff, and guests Required Qualifications Previous experience working in a school cafeteria, institutional kitchen - high-volume food service environment required Knowledge of CACFP standards and child nutrition is required Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment required Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations Ability to work independently and provide leadership support to a food service team Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and safety standards Certification Requirements ServSafe or Food Handler's Certificate required First Aid/CPR preferred; must be certified within the first 60 days of hire. Certification and training on newly installed state-of-the-art kitchen equipment Skills and Abilities Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with CACFP and state health regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization in a fast-paced kitchen setting. Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors. Work independently and take initiative. Manage time efficiently and maintain accurate records.
Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
