Job Description
Beachview Breakfast and Grill is seeking an experienced and dependable Kitchen Supervisor to oversee our back-of-house operations. This is a working supervisor position for someone who leads by example, takes pride in an organized kitchen and is committed to quality, teamwork, and efficiency. You will be responsible for supervising the kitchen team, ensuring recipes and procedures are followed, maintaining food quality, controlling labor and food costs, and helping create an efficient, positive work environment while delivering an exceptional guest experience. Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen. Lead the kitchen team by example and maintain a positive, productive work environment. Run the expo window during service to ensure orders are accurate, complete, and delivered in a timely manner. Train, coach, and hold kitchen staff accountable for following recipes, portion sizes, food quality standards, and company procedures. Control labor costs by managing staffing levels, productivity, and efficiency throughout each shift. Help control food costs by monitoring portion sizes, minimizing waste, rotating inventory, and maintaining proper ordering practices. Place food and supply orders and maintain appropriate inventory levels. Assist with scheduling, inventory counts, and kitchen organization. Maintain a clean, organized kitchen while ensuring compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards. Work closely with front-of-house management to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent guest service. You will be expected to actively assist with cooking, prep, dishwashing, expo, inventory, ordering, cleaning, and any other kitchen duties as needed. Qualifications Previous kitchen leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation. Experience controlling labor and food costs. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Dependable, motivated, and able to hold a team accountable while maintaining a positive work culture. Availability to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require. Experience with Sysco, US Foods, or other food ordering systems. Experience with inventory management and weekly inventory counts. Ability to analyze food cost and labor reports and make recommendations to improve profitability. Strong knowledge of portion control and waste reduction. Experience training, coaching, and developing kitchen employees. Breakfast and brunch experience is highly preferred. Ability to step into any position in the kitchen when needed, including line cook, prep cook, dishwashing, or expo. ServSafe Manager Certification (or willingness to obtain one).
