Position assists the F&B FOH Manager in overseeing CALYPSO restaurant and bar, and all banquet events and meetings in the area's finest meeting & event space, all recently renovated, and located on picturesque Lake Sumter in The Villages, Florida. SUMMARY The Food and Beverage Supervisor will oversee and organize activities of the Food and Beverage department including, but not limited to Front of the House, Banquets and bar. It is the Supervisors responsibility to maintain a high standard of food and beverage quality, service and marketing to maximize profits through outstanding customer service. Some duties include reviewing and evaluating customer satisfaction, interviewing and training staff and ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures that relate to food and beverage, as well as local, state and federal law regulations. We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, strategic and personable leader who can effectively organize a department under the standards of AHC Hospitality.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS
- Works closely with the Food & Beverage Manager and Executive Chef to ensure correct stock levels are available to assist the operational Food & Beverage team.
- Assists with interviewing, training, discipline, and guides the and restaurant and banquet staff.
- Assists with schedules for the restaurant and banquet staff.
- Manages all Food & Beverage day- to-day operations within budgeted guidelines and to the highest standards.
- Full-time position. Typically 40 or more hours per week. Schedule varies according to business demands, and must be available to work including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, etc. as business demands. - Ensures strict compliance with all relevant Hygiene and Safety legislation and requirements
- Implements training within the Food & Beverage team to create a culture that ensures guest satisfaction.
- Consistently reviews the product range to ensure that all key quality standards are maintained.
- Maintains professional, effective links with all external contractors and vendors; ensures that suppliers deliver to stated agreements.
- Assists with budget setting for banquets and the restaurant.
- Assists with food and beverage inventories, allocating and verifying spending, and assisting in report analysis on stock and sales.
- Assists Food & Beverage Manager with performance reviews for all food and beverage staff.
- Operates within efficient labor budgets for each season, tracking labor spending and providing input regarding capital projects and initiatives.
- Acts as a purchasing officer and budget controller for the restaurant and banquets department, creating a professional relationship with all suppliers.
- Assists the Food & Beverage Manager and Executive Chef in the planning and implementation of new menus.
- Provides consistent teamwork, support, and feedback to their fellow Food & Beverage team.
- Provides an environment of openness and trust, with consistent feedback and performance coaching.
- Must have a strong sense of organization and unwavering standards for quality and cleanliness.
- Reviews in advance all banquet function sheets as prepared by the Sales Office
- Must have the ability to work responsibly unsupervised when necessary and when working shift alone.
- Reports any unusual occurrences or request to the Exec Chef, F&B Manager, GM and/or HR.
- Attend departmental meetings and daily stand-up meetings. Brings suggestions for improvement.
- Follow AHC handbook policies and standard operating procedures.
- Actively working, always looking for ways to assists guests and going above and beyond to provide guest service.
- Able to monitor and control workflow in the food and beverage areas.
- Ensures the quality and level of service exceeds guest expectations and follows our company standards and policies.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Ensures each guest receives outstanding service by providing a friendly, professional environment.
- Maintains thorough product knowledge and outstanding standards.
- Handles guest complaints.
- Personally inspect all F&B outlets to maintain cleanliness and operation of areas.
- Makes sure all staff members are kept in clean uniforms with name badges daily.
- Oversees production and preparation of menu items to ensure consistency with taste and presentation.
- Complete all daily responsibilities/cleaning task list. Completes all department checklists
- Assists with monthly food and beverage inventories.
- Assist with creating promotional ideas and events.
- Work closely with the Food & Beverage Management, and be able to follow direction with minimal supervision while adhering to AHC standards.
- Actively work with department staff, while following all departmental rules and maintaining a pleasant, team focused attitude
- Any other additional responsibilities that may be asked by the Exec Chef, F&B Manager, or GM.
- Follow up and inspect any additional tasks assigned to team members.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Serve Safe and TIPS certification (or similar certificate), or ability to complete serv safe within 30 days of hiring. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent preferred 2-3 years' F&B supervisory experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, checklists, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before guests or associates.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, walk, use hands to finger, or feel objects, tools or controls, lift boxes, (up to 50 pounds), talk and hear. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision to a computer screen.
NOTICE :
The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day, including weekends and holidays. All associates must realize this fact and be aware that at all times it may be necessary to move associates from their accustomed shift as business demands. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
Pay:
