Overview:
The Bar & Concessions Supervisor oversees the retail food and beverage operations at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. This position is responsible for the planning, execution, and supervision of bars, concessions stands, exhibitor catering, pop-up activations, and subcontractor and vendor partner operations. The Bar & Concessions Supervisor must have the ability to work weekdays and weekends, with availability for some morning, noon, and evening shifts based on a fluctuating event-based schedule. This role pays an hourly rate of $28.00 - $30.00.

Responsibilities:
Collaborates with Catering Sales Managers to coordinate and execute exhibitor catering and retail food and beverage services from order confirmation through event completion. Serve as the primary on-site contact for vendor partners, exhibitors, and guests, ensuring service expectations are consistently met or exceeded during retail events, and respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns, service issues, and recovery opportunities. Create, maintain, and update all physical and digital concession menus, promotional materials, and stand signage, ensuring pricing accuracy across printed materials and all point-of-sale systems. Assist with implementing new concession concepts, seasonal menus, specialty events, and promotional offerings to enhance guest engagement and drive revenue. Prepare and inspect bar and concession locations by verifying opening inventory, ensuring proper staffing assignments, confirming food and beverage readiness, and maintaining sanitation and presentation according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and established service standards prior to event start times. Monitor concession operations throughout events, adjusting staffing levels and operational priorities based on guest demand and business needs and maintaining cleanliness, food quality, product presentation, portion consistency, inventory levels, and speed of service to ensure established standards are maintained. Provide hands-on operational support during peak service periods to maintain efficiency and guest satisfaction. Assists in coaching and developing food and beverage team members while promoting high standards of service and accountability. Conducts pre-shift meetings to communicate event details, operational updates, service expectations, safety information, and departmental priorities to employees. Enforce cash handling procedures, point-of-sale (POS) standards, and financial accountability across all retail locations. Oversee end-of-event closing procedures, including sales reconciliation, inventory verification, and equipment, décor, and service items being properly handled, secured, maintained, and returned to designated storage locations. Maintains required operational documentation, including inventory records, alcohol compliance documentation, daily reports, and other departmental records in a timely manner. Coordinates with Culinary, Operations, Sales, Event Management, Warehouse, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of food and beverage services. Support inventory counts, product ordering, receiving, and event forecasting as assigned. Ensures compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, alcohol service laws, health department requirements, and all applicable safety standards. Perform other duties as assigned to support the Food & Beverage Department and overall venue operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or
GED. 2-3
years' experience working in a supervisory capacity in a bar, concessions, hospitality, or retail setting. Working knowledge of point-of-sale and timekeeping systems.
Basic computer proficiency:
e-mail, Excel, Word, Outlook, Schedule+. Canva experience preferred. Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner that focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment.
