Kitchen Mgr. About New General At New General Café & Coffee Bar, we believe healthy dining will ultimately improve the way communities eat. We serve familiar, house-made dishes with a focus on quality ingredients, nutrition, and wellness. We never use seed oils or cane sugar and prioritize organic and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Position Overview We are looking for a hands-on Kitchen Lead to help lead our BOH team and manage daily kitchen operations. This person will work alongside the team to ensure food quality, cleanliness, speed, and consistency. Responsibilities Lead and support the BOH team during assigned shifts. Ensure all food is prepared according to New General recipes and standards. Maintain food quality, proper portioning, presentation, and ticket times. Ensure the kitchen is properly prepped, stocked, clean, and organized. Follow all food safety and sanitation standards. Help train and coach kitchen team members. Hold team members accountable to expectations and procedures. Help reduce food waste and product loss. Maintain positive communication between the BOH and FOH teams. Communicate staffing, equipment, and operational concerns to management. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of supervisory or kitchen leadership experience. Experience working in a fast-paced restaurant or café environment. Strong knowledge of food preparation and food safety. Ability to lead, coach, and work alongside a team. Strong sense of urgency, organization, and attention to detail. Reliable, accountable, and able to work weekends. Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience and leadership ability.
