This pivotal role involves overseeing food production, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, managing food service teams, and coordinating with clinical staff to support residents' nutritional needs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, management expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences that promote health and well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on residents' quality of life through nutritious, safe, and enjoyable meals. Must have a current certification as a Certified Dietary Manager. (CDM) Duties Lead the planning, organization, and supervision of all food service activities, ensuring high-quality meal preparation and presentation. Manage food production processes while maintaining strict adherence to food safety management practices and health regulation policies. Oversee dietary department operations, including menu development aligned with clinical nutrition standards and residents' care plans. Supervise and manage food service teams, fostering a positive work environment through effective team management and leadership. Ensure compliance with food service health codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements at all times. Monitor budget management, including cost control, purchasing, inventory management, and resource allocation to optimize operational efficiency. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to conduct patient assessments, develop care plans involving nutrition strategies, and evaluate dietary needs through diagnostic evaluation techniques. Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation related to food service activities, patient care notes, and regulatory reporting Skills Extensive experience in skilled nursing or healthcare food service management with supervising teams in a fast-paced environment. Deep knowledge of health regulation policies related to food safety and sanitation standards. Proven ability in managing budgets effectively while maintaining high standards of food quality and safety. Skilled in managing food production processes from menu planning to execution while ensuring compliance with dietary restrictions. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation of care plans and nutritional assessments. Excellent leadership capabilities with a focus on team management, staff development, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Demonstrates dependable, regular attendance with reliable transportation. Ability to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment. Positive/upbeat attitude. High energy level. Culinary training a plus! Willingness to help others.
