Midwest Janitorial Service, Inc. is hiring dependable Custodians and working Assistant Supervisors to join our evening operations team. Our Assistant Supervisor position is an excellent entry-level leadership opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their career. It provides hands-on experience in employee support, training, quality control, and facility operations and can serve as a stepping stone to future management opportunities within MJS. Whether you are seeking a steady custodial position or an opportunity to grow into leadership, we want to hear from individuals who take pride in their work, communicate well, and can be counted on to provide consistent service. Custodian Responsibilities Perform general cleaning, including dusting, disinfecting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning, and trash removal. Follow facility-specific cleaning schedules and security procedures. Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely. Report supply needs, maintenance concerns, and incomplete work. Work independently while meeting MJS quality standards. Assistant Supervisor Responsibilities Perform custodial work while providing hands-on support to employees and facilities. Train employees on cleaning procedures, safety requirements, and client expectations. Inspect completed work and correct quality concerns. Assist with employee call-offs and emergency coverage. Deliver supplies and equipment as needed. Communicate staffing, performance, and client concerns to management. Travel between assigned facilities during the shift. Help ensure employees follow their schedules, procedures, and company policies. Qualifications Dependable attendance and reliable communication are required. Custodial, supervisory, or customer service experience is preferred but not required. Assistant Supervisor candidates must demonstrate leadership potential, accountability, initiative, and a willingness to learn. Must be able to work independently with limited supervision. Must have reliable transportation to and from work. Assistant Supervisors must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Must be able to pass applicable background checks. Must be able to bend, twist, squat, lift approximately 20-30 pounds, and remain on your feet throughout the shift. Must be able to use a backpack vacuum weighing up to 30 pounds. Why Join MJS?
