Are you a skilled food service leader who is passionate about creating safe, nutritious, and high-quality meals in a healthcare environment? Your opportunity awaits at Chicago Behavioral Hospital ! As the Dietary Manager, you will oversee the full operation of the hospital's Dietary Department, ensuring patients and staff receive nutritious meals prepared in a safe, sanitary, and efficient environment. You will lead the kitchen team, manage purchasing and inventory, maintain regulatory compliance, and ensure the delivery of high-quality food services across the facility. In this leadership role, you will supervise dietary staff, coordinate daily food production, maintain sanitation standards, and ensure compliance with hospital, regulatory, and food safety guidelines including Joint Commission and CMS standards. Oversee the daily operation of the kitchen and dining areas Supervise the preparation and service of meals according to approved menus and production schedules Hire, train, schedule, and evaluate dietary staff including cooks and dietary aides Ensure all food service operations meet federal, state, and hospital sanitation standards Manage purchasing, receiving, storage, and utilization of food and supplies Monitor refrigerators, freezers, and food storage areas to ensure proper labeling, rotation, and safety Develop menus and coordinate special dietary needs with the dietitian Plan meals for special events, meetings, and hospital functions Support positive working relationships within the department and across the facility Your Experience Matters What we're looking for:
Education:
Culinary degree or related discipline preferred, but relevant experience and technical abilities will be considered.
Experience:
Preferred to have at least five (5) years' experience in quantity cooking, a basic knowledge of modified diets. Training in Dietary sanitation and possession of food service food handler's permit a required. Experience utilizing industrial kitchen equipment and utensils preferred. Three (3) years kitchen supervisory experience helpful.
Additional Skill Requirements:
May be required to work overtime and flexible hours. Spanish speaking preferred. Compensation:
This is a full-time role and the expected compensation range for this role is $50,000.00-$70,000.00 annually.
