The Food Services Supervisor is directly responsible for the Patient Meal Service. This position requires the supervisor to walk, stand, kneel, crouch, stoop, bend, lift, and carry items for the majority of the scheduled shift. The supervisor is responsible for a variety of tasks within the department including:- Responsible for the daily operation of the Room Service Program including the food prep line, hostess staff, dish room, and call center staff.
- Supervises and closes down the Department and insures overnight staff arrives.
- Delegates tasks and manages schedules in the event limited staffing in all areas of the department.
- Schedules staff while remaining flexible enough to work with around a variety of scheduling conflicts.
- Evaluates staff on a regular basis and provide feedback for growth and development.
- Monitors practices within the department and implement changes that impact the perception and quality of the meals served.
- Interviews, hires, and trains new staff members.
- Frequently makes contact with patients within their rooms under a variety of treatments.
- Coaches and leads staff on following the policies and procedures of the department.
- Reconciles money from daily sales.
- Navigates phone calls throughout the shift, and takes appropriate action. The Supervisor must also have the following skills :
- Must be able to work with a variety of software and technology devices.
- Must have the ability to handle sensitive situations with staff and navigate appropriate action independently.
- Must be able to perform multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
- Must be able to supervise a diverse staff with varying levels of independence.
- Must be friendly and adaptable to a changing environment on a daily basis.
