Job Summary Lansing Unified School District 469 , located in Lansing, Kansas , is seeking an energetic and innovative Director of Dining Services to lead its student nutrition program serving approximately 2,600 students across four schools. As this is a new partnership, the district is looking for a dynamic leader who can establish strong relationships, build a positive culture, and drive operational excellence while leading a team of 20-25 associates. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a passion for creating outstanding student dining experiences, developing teams, and identifying opportunities for growth and success. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of a growing program from the ground up while making a lasting impact on students, staff, and the community. The successful candidate will bring energy, creativity, and strong leadership skills to a district committed to delivering exceptional service and creating a welcoming dining environment for every student.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversees all P&L and budgeting as it pertains to the account Maintains excellent relationships with the client Works with the team to create nutritious, high-quality food for students Implements new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary teams Acts as a liaison between Chartwells, the client, and the community Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient functioning of the dining services operation
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Management, Hospitality, Culinary, or Nutrition preferred; additional food service management experience Three or more years of food service management experience K-12 dining experience preferred Strong leadership and communication skills Financial acumen with strong business intuition Apply to Chartwells Schools today!
