This is a great opportunity for a proven front-office or clinical support professional who is ready to step into a leadership role — coordinating daily operations, supporting a busy nephrology care team, and helping ensure a smooth, positive experience for every patient who walks through our doors. About the Role As Team Lead, you'll work alongside our Front Office Manager to keep the Clinton office running efficiently, coordinating staff, monitoring workflows, troubleshooting day-of issues, and serving as a go-to resource for both the front desk team and our providers. In addition to the core responsibilities of the Check-In, Check-Out, and/or Medical Assistant roles, you will also: Assist the Front Office Manager with daily coordination of staff and work-related activities at the Clinton location. Participate in morning huddles with the Front Office Manager and fellow Team Leads to promote cross-team collaboration, ensure coverage across all office functions, and maintain operational excellence. Review provider schedules in advance to confirm appointments are booked correctly within each provider's template (follow-up, new patient, post-biopsy, etc.). Partner with the Front Office Manager and/or Department Administrator to ensure the front desk team, clinical and non-clinical completes daily tasks and follows department protocols, including monitoring fax queues, working assigned Acumen work queues, timely office communication follow-up, supply levels, and proper chart preparation. Proactively communicate with providers throughout the day regarding delays or operational issues (computer/phone outages, copier or technical issues, etc.). Support patients and families with questions about verification status, deductibles, co-payments, and balances, and escalate to the revenue cycle team as needed. Help resolve provider and patient concerns related to front-end operations (registration, scheduling, authorizations, and front desk service) helping to provide resolution where possible and escalating unresolved concerns. Maintain a clean, safe office environment and keep your own workspace neat and organized; relay supply needs to the Front Office Manager and order supplies when needed in their absence. Report computer malfunctions, software issues, or other technical problems to the IT Help Desk or appropriate staff. What We're Looking For Prior experience in a medical office front desk, check-in/check-out, medical assistant, or similar patient access role in healthcare or nephrology/dialysis experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated leadership or lead/supervisory experience, or clear readiness to take on additional responsibility. Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment. Clear, professional communication skills with patients, providers, and staff. Working knowledge of EHR/practice management systems (Acumen experience a plus) and general office technology.
