Job description The Back of House Opening Shift Leader is responsible for leading all back-of-house operations during their assigned shift. Rather than creating schedules, this leader evaluates the needs of the business in real time and strategically positions team members to maximize efficiency, food quality, food safety, and speed of service. This role works in close partnership with the Front of House Shift Leader to anticipate business needs, adjust staffing throughout the shift, communicate priorities, and ensure both teams are working together to provide an exceptional guest experience. Key Responsibilities Lead and direct Back of House operations during opening and breakfast/lunch service. Assess business needs throughout the shift and assign team members to positions that best support operational success. Coach, motivate, and develop team members through real-time feedback and accountability. Partner with the Front of House Shift Leader to communicate business needs, staffing adjustments, and operational priorities. Maintain the highest standards of food safety, food quality, cleanliness, and operational procedures. Monitor production levels and make proactive adjustments to meet changing business demands. Ensure team members are following recipes, procedures, and Chick-fil-A standards. Balance food quality, speed of service, accuracy, and team care when making operational decisions. Identify operational challenges and implement solutions to keep the shift running smoothly. Foster a positive, encouraging work environment where team members feel supported and empowered. Qualifications Previous supervisory, leadership, or shift management experience required. Restaurant or quick-service leadership experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead and coach a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Commitment to food safety, quality, and operational excellence. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail. Positive attitude, servant leadership mindset, and a desire to develop others.
