Job Summary Godfrey-Lee Public Schools in Wyoming, Michigan , is seeking an organized, energetic, and student-focused Director of Dining Services to lead a thriving nutrition program serving approximately 1,400 students across five schools, while also overseeing food service operations for Potter's House School . Leading a team of approximately 22 union employees, this individual will be responsible for driving operational excellence, maintaining compliance, building strong client relationships, and creating an exceptional dining experience for students. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, a collaborative leadership style, and experience working in diverse communities. Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply. This is an outstanding opportunity for a self-motivated leader who is passionate about K-12 food service and making a meaningful impact on students' daily lives. With a Monday through Friday schedule and time off during evenings, weekends, holidays, and school breaks, the role offers an excellent work-life balance while providing the chance to lead a growing program, develop a dedicated team, and enhance participation through innovation and outstanding service. K-12 experience is strongly helpful, and catering experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversees all P&L and budgeting as it pertains to the account Maintains excellent relationships with the client Works with the team to create nutritious, high-quality food for students Implements new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary teams Acts as a liaison between Chartwells, the client, and the community Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient functioning of the dining services operation
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Management, Hospitality, Culinary, or Nutrition preferred; additional food service management experience Three or more years of food service management experience K-12 dining experience preferred Strong leadership and communication skills Financial acumen with strong business intuition Bilingual English - Spanish a plus!
