Job Description

BridgeWater at Owatonna is a 50-unit Independent & Assisted living community dedicated to providing high-quality care in a warm, supportive environment. We are currently seeking a Kitchen Coordinator to help lead our dietary operations and ensure a consistently excellent dining experience for our residents. This hands-on supervisory position works closely with our Kitchen Manager to oversee kitchen operations, food preparation, inventory, cleanliness, and staff support.
Schedule:
Full-time position
Hours:
10:00 AM - 6:30 PM Rotating weekends and holidays required
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, including special diets or dietary restrictions Oversee kitchen staff during shifts; delegate and support daily tasks Collaborate with the Kitchen Manager on menu planning, recipes, and prep sheets Assist with onboarding, training, and re-training of kitchen team members Monitor and maintain kitchen inventory; order supplies as needed Ensure food safety practices, cleanliness, and infection control procedures are followed Maintain accurate records including food temperatures, cleaning logs, and food labeling Handle minor disciplinary actions such as verbal coaching and written warnings (with Kitchen Manager) Provide on-call support for scheduling or kitchen-related questions Participate in monthly staff meetings What we're looking for: A passion for serving older adults in a supportive community environment Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting (senior care preferred, not required) Ability to lead and coach a team in a collaborative, respectful manner Strong communication and organizational skills Flexibility to fill in shifts and provide on-call support as needed Why Join BridgeWater?
