Lead Expo Position Reports to:
Restaurant Chef & HOH Sous Summary:
At Q39 our passion is to create craveable, memorable dining experiences for all. The Q39 Expo Lead serves as the central communication and coordination point between the Heart of House (HOH) and Front of House (FOH) teams during service. This role is responsible for ensuring food quality, presentation standards, ticket flow, timing, and guest experience are executed at a high level while maintaining urgency, organization, and accountability throughout each shift. The Expo Lead works closely with the Restaurant Chef, Sous Chefs, and leadership team to support operational excellence and consistent execution of the Q39 service standards.
Responsibilities:
Ensure proper plating and presentation standards are maintained Verify accuracy and completeness of all orders before leaving the expo window Monitor food quality, temperature, and consistency during peak service Support urgent guest requests, modifications, and allergy communication Identify and resolve service bottlenecks quickly to protect the guest experience Maintain efficient flow through expo windows while managing ticket times Communicate ticket times and service flow with the HOH team Coordinate timing and table pacing with FOH staff Serve as the primary communication hub between HOH and FOH during service Maintain positive energy, urgency, and accountability during service
Team Coordination & Support Responsibilities:
Manage SA team responsibilities including side work, check-in/check-out, and support tasks Maintain cleanliness, organization, and stock levels at the expo line Support Sous Chef and HOH closing duties Complete end-of-shift check out with the closing Sous Chef Success Traits Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Sense of urgency with attention to detail Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Positive attitude and solution-oriented mindset Commitment to teamwork and guest experience excellence
