Job Description

Job Summary:
The Shift Lead plays a vital leadership role at Stuffed Crepes & Waffles, ensuring smooth daily operations by managing vendor orders, overseeing financial transactions, enforcing policies and procedures, and maintaining food safety standards. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work across all restaurant positions while leading by example.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
o Greet and engage with customers in a friendly and welcoming manner. o Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring customer satisfaction. o Address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly.
Restaurant Cleanliness:
o Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas, including dining, kitchen, and restrooms. o Follow cleaning schedules and sanitation guidelines to uphold restaurant standards.
Food Preparation:
o Assist in preparing menu items according to standardized recipes and portioning guidelines. o Ensure ingredients are fresh and stored properly.
Food Safety & Handling:
o Carry or be willing to obtain a manager level ServSafe certification (company will pay for you to get this) o Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe dining experience. o Educate employees on proper hygiene, allergen awareness, and safe food handling techniques.
Cash Register Operations:
o Handle cash, credit card, and digital payment transactions securely. o Maintain a balanced cash drawer and report any discrepancies.
Training & Development:
o Coach and train both new and current team members across all restaurant roles, workstations, and food preparation tasks. o Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and support to ensure team members understand job responsibilities and perform efficiently.
Operational Support & Leadership:
o Work all positions as needed, including prep, spin, expo, cashiering, and customer service. o Lead by example by fostering a positive and motivating work environment. o Communicate effectively with team members, mentors and restaurant leadership to ensure smooth operations. o Assist in inventory management, stock rotation, and supply ordering to maintain efficiency.
Leadership & Teamwork:
o Foster a positive and motivating work environment to enhance employee morale and performance. o Lead by example by demonstrating professionalism, excellent customer service, and teamwork.
Quality Assurance:
o Maintain strict adherence to food safety protocols and health regulations. o Train and enforce consistent adherence to best practices defined in training materials.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Valid ServSafe Manager Certification (Company pays for this)
  • Previous experience in a fast casual or quick-service restaurant setting.
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and restaurant operations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions with accuracy and integrity.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexible schedule, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in kitchen conditions, including exposure to heat and food preparation tools.
