Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Food Service Director to oversee the daily operations of our dietary department in a skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience managing food service operations, and a commitment to providing high-quality nutritional care for our residents. Key Responsibilities Plan, implement, and evaluate the facility's food service program. Collaborate with residents, families, physicians, and dietitians to develop appropriate meal plans. Manage the department budget and oversee inventory of food, supplies, and equipment. Maintain accurate financial and departmental records. Recruit, interview, onboard, and train dietary staff. Prepare staff schedules and provide ongoing coaching, performance management, and disciplinary action when necessary. Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards. Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and report any hazardous conditions. Conduct daily rounds to monitor food quality, service standards, and equipment condition. Participate in facility inspections, committee meetings, and staff education programs.

Training or experience in food service management, cost control, dietary operations, and therapeutic diets . Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Previous work experience in skilled nursing facility / LTC is preferred.
