Shift Lead

Job Description

Job Summary The Production Lead is responsible for the implementation, execution of food safety and quality assurance functions as assigned by the department head and supervisor(s), in support of our commitment to our customers and of our Mission Statement. The line lead will provide direction to a team of 30-50 employees in a production environment. The Line Lead must be able to execute all Production; Prep and Bagging functions and can train other team members in the proper execution of all related Operational team tasks.

All Intelligent Foods employees are also required to adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food handling procedures, quality control, and all safety procedures and policies in our distribution centers. We are currently seeking highly motivated individuals to fill our Shift Lead role at our food manufacturing facility located at 90 Stemmers Lane, Westampton, NJ 08060.
What will you be doing:
Assist Production supervisor with supporting all department employees, training employees in proper procedures regarding line functions and ensuring all are following established safety procedures. Implement and ensure all SOPs, SSOPs, GMPs are being followed at all times. Verify order accuracy, quantity deviations, and control waste. Assist with inventory counts to ensure proper prep and bag counts. Maintain production areas in a neat and orderly manner to ease inventory counting. As part of the plant leadership team, provide excellent communication and partnership with the quality control and production departments. Uphold and maintain a safe work environment following OSHA standards. Report any hazardous conditions to the department head. Maintain an active role on internal continuous improvement teams. Perform daily attendance for the team/teams responsible for. Work with other leads to ensure all work gets done and give leads support as needed. Works with Navision (ERP) to ensure all information is tracked and entered properly. Conduct assigned daily checklist, EOS and shift hand off. Complete training as assigned. Who you are and why you're right for us: Ability to communicate duties, tasks, policies and procedures to the team members through trainings and informal meetings. Ability to plan and prioritize workload, read and follow written and/or verbal instructions accurately in English Attention to detail, accuracy, thoroughness, and flexibility required Intermediate computer skills (i.e. Outlook and other Gmail tools) Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Must uphold and follow workplace safety, food safety, and production quality standards Ability to work in high stress/fast-paced environment with multiple change-over's Ability to work in a refrigerated environment (-9º-42º Fahrenheit) for 8 or more hours and in some instances, in a dark environment. This includes executing assigned tasks in the freezer as needed. Must be willing and able to work a variety of shifts and overtime as required; even on short notice Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, in group settings, be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
