What You'll Get To Do As a Supervisor Be a Leader & Mentor Guide and support Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide high-quality, person-centered care . Encourage professional growth, teamwork, and excellence in daily responsibilities. Coach staff through challenges, recognize achievements, and help your team succeed. Support Individuals' Success Ensure individuals receive consistent care and support to achieve personal, community, and independence goals . Attend ISP meetings and follow up to make sure plans are implemented effectively. Celebrate milestones and create meaningful experiences for the people you serve. Keep Things Organized Oversee schedules and staffing coverage to ensure smooth operations . Maintain accurate documentation, financial tracking, and compliance records. Ensure all programs meet health, safety, and regulatory standards . Champion Health & Safety Supervise medication administration and coordinate medical appointments as needed. Monitor homes and environments to maintain safety, cleanliness, and overall well-being. Step in to resolve challenges and emergencies while maintaining a calm, person-centered approach. Create Fun & Memorable Moments Plan and participate in recreational activities (yes, karaoke and game nights count!). Serve as a cheerleader and role model for both staff and the individuals you support. Team Player Extraordinaire Build strong, positive relationships with individuals, families, staff, and the community. Can you consistently ensure that staff follow state regulations, agency policies, and individual care plans to provide safe, consistent, and person-centered care at all times? Are you comfortable ensuring that individuals receive respectful, person-centered support, while also leading and collaborating with a team of staff from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives to maintain a positive, inclusive work environment? Supervisors ensure teamwork, especially during challenging or high-pressure situations, to maintain consistent care for individuals. How do you typically guide and support your team to maintain high-quality care when shifts become stressful, busy, or challenging? Are you comfortable overseeing and supporting staff as they assist individuals with community activities such as events, hobbies, appointments, worship, errands, and other outings? Are you comfortable performing hands-on personal care for adults, such as bathing, toileting, and dressing, as part of your responsibilities? Supervisors are responsible for ensuring staff coverage and providing support during all shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call situations, to maintain safe, high-quality care for individuals. Are you able to meet these flexible scheduling and on-call requirements? As a supervisor, you are responsible for maintaining high standards of care and staff performance. This includes providing coaching, feedback, and following the agency's progressive discipline process when necessary. Can you handle staff performance or behavioral issues while consistently applying the agency's progressive discipline policy?
