Dietary Director Dublin Post Acute Dublin Ohio Join Our Team Dublin Post Acute is seeking an experienced and compassionate Dietary Director to lead our Dietary Services Department. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of food service operations, ensuring residents receive safe, nutritious, and appetizing meals that meet their individual dietary needs while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate is an organized leader with a passion for resident care, strong team management skills, and experience in long-term care or skilled nursing food service. Position Summary The Dietary Director oversees meal planning, food preparation, food safety, and dietary service operations for the facility. This position manages dietary staff, maintains departmental budgets, coordinates with interdisciplinary teams, and ensures residents receive high-quality meals that support their health and well-being. Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the preparation and service of safe, nutritious, and appealing meals in accordance with physician orders and approved menus.
  • Ensure food quality, proper portion control, and compliance with dietary standards.
  • Manage the dietary department budget, food inventory, purchasing, and cost control.
  • Plan and coordinate special meals for holidays, celebrations, and facility events.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, coach, and evaluate dietary staff.
  • Prepare staff schedules and ensure appropriate departmental coverage.
  • Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure proper food storage, handling, labeling, and temperature monitoring.
  • Process new diet orders and maintain accurate resident diet records.
  • Assess resident food preferences, allergies, and nutritional concerns while completing required documentation.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the kitchen and storage areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Collaborate with Nursing, Activities, and other departments to support resident-centered care.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) and Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings.
  • Provide ongoing education and in-service training for dietary staff.
  • Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective actions when appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies.
  • Communicate menu changes and resident nutrition concerns with the consulting Registered Dietitian. Qualifications Required
  • Graduate of an approved Dietary Manager course that meets state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to maintain all required certifications, continuing education, and licensure.
  • Must remain in good standing with the Department of Public Health License and Certification Division.
