Job Description

Kitchen Lead / Supervisor We are seeking an experienced and dependable Kitchen Lead / Supervisor to help oversee daily kitchen operations while working hands-on alongside the team. This is a working leadership position. You will be expected to cook on the line, assist with prep, help manage the kitchen team, complete ordering, assist with scheduling, control labor, and help maintain food quality and consistency. This is not an office-only management position. The Kitchen Lead / Supervisor is part of the working crew and must be willing to jump in wherever needed to keep labor and overhead under control. Responsibilities Work the line during regular and high-volume shifts. Help supervise daily kitchen operations and workflow. Assist with BOH scheduling based on business and labor needs. Handle or assist with food and supply ordering. Monitor inventory, prep levels, portions, waste, and food costs. Maintain consistent recipes, plating, quality, and ticket times. Train and supervise kitchen employees. Help hold employees accountable for attendance, performance, cleanliness, and kitchen standards. Maintain proper food safety, sanitation, labeling, storage, and temperature procedures. Help control labor by working the line and reducing unnecessary staffing. Communicate staffing, inventory, equipment, and operational concerns to ownership or management. Work weekends and other high-volume shifts as required. What We Are Looking For We need someone who can work independently, take initiative, and make sound decisions while understanding that they are part of a management structure.
You must be able to:
Follow direction from ownership and management. Listen to feedback and make necessary adjustments. Take responsibility without needing constant supervision. Lead by example rather than simply giving instructions. Work side-by-side with the team. Stay calm and organized during busy service. Schedule and order responsibly with cost control in mind. Communicate professionally with both employees and management. Be dependable and available on weekends. Requirements Strong line-cooking experience is required. Previous lead cook, kitchen supervisor, or management experience preferred. Experience with ordering and inventory. Scheduling experience preferred. Understanding of food and labor cost control. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Probationary Period This position will begin with a probationary period to determine whether it is a good fit for both the employee and the company. During this period, we will evaluate reliability, leadership, line performance, communication, ability to follow direction, ordering and scheduling skills, cost awareness, and overall fit with the team. Advancement and continued placement in the Lead / Supervisor role will depend on successful performance during this period. We are looking for someone who wants responsibility, takes pride in their work, and understands that leadership in our kitchen means being willing to work just as hard as the team they are leading.
