Lead Greeter

Our greeters are the very first and last impression for every guest. As Lead Greeter , you set the standard for warm, sincere hospitality while leading a small team of 3-5 greeters and bussers . Our restaurant operates from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, closing at 3:00 PM on Mondays and Tuesdays. You'll take an active role in welcoming guests, managing seating, and coordinating the team to keep service running smoothly from arrival through departure. This role goes beyond managing the front door. You'll train, coach, and support your teammates to maintain a high-quality, engaged greeter team that takes pride in its work. You'll lead by example and help each team member understand how their performance contributes to the guest experience. Lead Greeters are expected to live out our five core values every shift: Purpose, Kindness, Hunger, Initiative, and Guardianship. These values guide how we welcome guests, support our team, and deliver an experience that goes beyond a meal. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate a team of 3-5 greeters and bussers, setting clear expectations and assigning shift responsibilities. Train new team members on guest engagement, seating and waitlist procedures, table readiness, and Hatch's service standards. Provide ongoing coaching, recognition, and constructive feedback to maintain a consistently strong, engaged team. Lead by example by welcoming guests with enthusiasm, warmth, and professionalism. Introduce yourself by name and ask for the guest's name to create a personalized experience—and coach your team to do the same. Manage seating and the waitlist efficiently, communicating wait times clearly and keeping guests informed. Coordinate with bussers, servers, and managers to ensure tables are cleaned, reset, and ready for arriving guests. Monitor guest flow and adjust team priorities throughout the shift to keep service organized and responsive. Address guest questions and concerns with care, involving a manager when additional support is needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming entry area and ensure the team follows through on assigned duties. Build a positive team culture through clear communication, mutual support, and accountability. Communicate training needs, performance concerns, and team successes to management. Represent Hatch with positivity and pride in every interaction. Required Physical & Mental Abilities Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8+ hours). Ability to perform physical activities requiring frequent walking and balancing. Availability to work 4-5 days per week, with required shifts every Thursday through Sunday starting at 7:00 AM. Ability to read, write, and follow both written and verbal instructions. Ability to stay calm, prioritize tasks, and guide others in a fast-paced environment. Required Skills Upbeat, welcoming personality with a genuine interest in hospitality. Ability to lead a small team while actively participating in daily service. Ability to train others, communicate expectations clearly, and provide respectful, actionable feedback. Commitment to keeping teammates engaged, supported, and accountable to service standards. Clear and positive communication skills with guests, team members, and management. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities during busy shifts. Licensing & Permits No role-specific licenses or permits are required for the Lead Greeter position as described. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Arrive on time, in proper uniform, and ready to lead each scheduled shift with consistent attendance and professional appearance. Follow Hatch's steps of service and position-specific standards, and coach teammates to do the same. Confirm that greeters and bussers understand their assignments and complete opening, shift, and closing responsibilities. Maintain consistent service standards through hands-on support, training, and follow-through. Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in Hatch manuals and the companywide Code of Conduct. Attend all mandatory meetings and complete required training and testing. Partner with management to strengthen team performance and continually improve the guest experience.
