Job Description

Position Summary The Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the stewarding department, ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all kitchens, food service, and back-of-house areas. This role supervises stewarding team members, maintains compliance with health and safety standards, and supports the culinary and banquet teams by ensuring the availability of clean equipment, utensils, and service ware. Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the stewarding team.
  • Ensure proper cleaning and sanitation of kitchens, dishwashing areas, storage areas, and food service equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate inventory of china, glassware, silverware, cookware, and cleaning supplies.
  • Train, coach, and support stewarding team members on safety, sanitation, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all health department regulations, food safety standards, and hotel policies.
  • Coordinate with Culinary, Banquets, and Food & Beverage teams to support operational needs and special events.
  • Inspect work areas regularly to ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety standards are maintained.
  • Assist with scheduling, staffing, and performance management of stewarding associates.
  • Report maintenance, equipment, and safety concerns to management promptly.
  • Promote a positive and productive work environment focused on teamwork and efficiency. Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of stewarding, kitchen, or food service experience; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and health department regulations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to operate dishwashing and cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
