Position:

Full-time, 12-month position

Schedule:

Approximately 50-55 hours per week; primarily Monday-Friday, with rotational weekend coverage. Additional hours as business or special-event needs require Position Overview Pioneer College Caterers is seeking an experienced, hands-on Food Service Director to lead dining services at Cairn University in Langhorne, PA. This leadership position is responsible for the overall performance of a multi-outlet campus dining operation, including food service, personnel, financial performance, client relations, food safety, and guest satisfaction. The successful candidate will be a highly visible leader who enjoys working alongside the team, developing employees, building strong relationships with the campus community, and maintaining high standards for food quality, service, sanitation, and presentation. Key Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and direction for campus dining operations and multiple food service outlets. Recruit, train, supervise, coach, and develop managers and hourly employees. Maintain strong client relationships and provide responsive, professional service to students, faculty, staff, and guests. Manage food and labor costs, purchasing, inventory, payroll, billing, and other key financial controls. Ensure consistently high standards for food quality, presentation, sanitation, food safety, and customer service. Oversee staffing and execution of daily meal periods, special events, and catering functions. Work closely with the culinary and management teams on production, staffing, purchasing, and operational planning. Monitor operating results and develop action plans to address areas requiring improvement. Maintain a visible, hands-on presence during peak meal periods and throughout the operation. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operating standards. Qualifications College degree or comparable professional experience. Approximately 5-10 years of relevant food service, hospitality, or operations leadership experience. Campus dining experience preferred, but not required. Demonstrated experience leading, training, and developing employees. Strong financial and operational management skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. Ability to effectively interact with college students, employees, campus administrators, and guests. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or comparable applications. ServSafe certification and knowledge of food safety and allergen practices preferred. Ability and willingness to work additional hours and occasional weekends based on business and special-event needs.
