This role combines hands-on production responsibilities with front-line oversight of the shift, ensuring food safety standards are upheld, tasks are properly assigned, and the production area is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. The Shift Lead reports directly to the Production Manager and serves as the primary point of contact on the floor in their absence. Key Responsibilities Uphold food safety standards throughout the shift, including adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation protocols, and allergen controls Assign daily tasks to production staff and oversee workflow to ensure production targets are met Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production area in accordance with company standards Complete required documentation and logs (production records, cleaning logs, temperature logs, etc.) Perform base-level production duties alongside the team; this is a working leadership role, not a purely supervisory one Escalate equipment, quality, or safety concerns to the Production Manager in a timely manner Support the onboarding and training of new production staff Required Qualifications Prior experience in a food production or manufacturing environment Prior experience in a leadership, training, or supervisory capacity Working knowledge of food safety practices and willingness to enforce established procedures Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks throughout a full shift Basic proficiency with written recordkeeping and logs Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with HACCP or GMP principles Experience working in a small-scale or startup manufacturing environment Schedule & Compensation Monday-Friday;
