Job Description

Job Overview Coordinates with parish staff and active disciples to oversee the operation of the Cathedral kitchen. Coordinates and oversees parish social events by understanding requirements for each event and planning with attention to financial and time constraints and preparation of meals for each event. Responsibilities Coordinate aspects of
Parish Special Events:
Ø Coordinate and oversee the preparation of meals for Faith on Fire on Wednesday evenings throughout the school year. Ø Coordinate and oversee special parish events.
Food Services Coordinator Duties:
Ø Coordinate and oversee preparation of meals for gatherings of 30+. Ø Maintain a safe work environment for parish staff and active disciples. Ø Follow best practices for food handling/preparation. Ø Understand proper procedure of food handling for individuals with special dietary needs. Ø Wash, clean, mop kitchen surfaces and floors on an as needed basis. Ø Work with various parish ministries to provide a friendly and open kitchen suitable for parish needs. Ø Keep current inventory of kitchen utensils/implements. Ø Communicate supply orders to supervisor on an as needed basis. Ø Coordinate with supervisor on upcoming events including, but not limited to, FOF, funerals, and parish social events. Oversee the operation of the
Saint Joseph Hall Kitchen:
Ø Coordinate with Maintenance staff and users to ensure that the kitchen is clean and orderly. Ø Order all non-food and food supplies for the kitchen and monitor their use. Ø Monitor the system whereby users of the kitchen report the non-food items they used so that they can be posted to the right account. Ø Administer and monitor the usage and/or rental policy for use of the kitchen and equipment. Implement a system for securing Active Disciples to provide food and/or service for community life events . Ø Recruit, train, schedule, and provide supervision for new active disciples in food services ministries. Ø Use the parish ChMS program for monitoring active disciples' involvement and maintain an accurate and up to date listing of active disciples. Ø Conduct orientation and training in the use of the kitchen for groups of active disciples. With the Director of Parish Operations, prepare a yearly budget proposal to submit to the Director of Finance.
Qualifications :
The Director of Food Services has good communication and organizational skills; and who has experience with food preparation and kitchen management with attention to detail.
Pay:
$25.00 - $27.00 per hour
