About This Position The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food. You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility. Our ideal Food Service Supervisor excels at the following: Passionate about food and service Have a understanding of food handling regulations Desire to always learn more Work as a team member Adapt to changes quickly Flexible Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen. Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures. Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs. Train other food service workers. Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates. Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time. Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift. Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.
What You'll Need Required:
We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 18 years of age.

We prefer prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
