About This Position The Lead Food Service Supervisor performs a variety of kitchen responsibilities as assigned and/or instructs inmate labor in preparation and serving of correctional facility meals following departmental work production standards, standardized recipes, and work instructions. You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.
Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities:
Independently prepare, assists, or instructs inmate labor/team members in the preparation of a variety of food items following departmental work production standards, standardized recipes, and Institution work instructions. You will handle production paperwork and/or sanitation paperwork essential to comply with facility procedures. Ensure you complete the cleaning and maintenance of all food service equipment and work areas; confirm that you follow proper safety and sanitation practices. Follow prescribed institution requirements in all preparation, oversight, and serving of correctional facility meals Follow assigned institution housekeeping and safety practices as instructed. Stores food and supplies following instructions. Perform in high-volume food production facilities preparing food for large groups. Other responsibilities as determined by our needs. What You'll Need High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience. Must be at least 18 years of age. 1 year or more of experience working in a food service role. We prefer prior institutional food service or restaurant experience. Ability to lift up to 50 lb. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
