This role sets the tone on the floor, protects the guest experience, and helps the team execute with consistency during both everyday service and high-volume periods. The Shift Leader works closely with and reports through the restaurant's management team, including the General Manager and Assistant Manager. Key Responsibilities Lead daily shifts and serve as a positive example for the team. Open and/or close the restaurant according to company procedures. Protect food quality by following recipes, maintaining portion consistency, checking freshness, and upholding presentation standards. Deliver an excellent guest experience and address guest concerns professionally, calmly, and promptly. Coach, support, and motivate team members while helping maintain a strong team fit. Coordinate front-of-house and kitchen workflow during busy periods so the shift stays organized and service stays moving. Monitor cleanliness, sanitation, food safety, and health-code standards throughout the shift. Assist with prep, service, restocking, cash-handling, and shift paperwork as needed. Communicate shift updates, staffing needs, inventory concerns, and operational issues to management. Qualifications & Requirements Prior restaurant, hospitality, or team-leadership experience is preferred. Strong communication, reliability, professionalism, and problem-solving skills. A hands-on, lead-by-example approach. Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment. Passion for food quality, hospitality, and developing teammates. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical requirements of restaurant work. Availability for a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
