Job Description
Area Coach - Summary The Area Coach is responsible for driving sales, profitability, operational excellence, and people development across multiple Taco Bell restaurants. This role provides leadership, coaching, and strategic direction to Restaurant General Managers while ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance, and compliance with Taco Bell brand standards and company policies. The Area Coach partners with restaurant leadership to develop high-performing teams, build future leaders, execute company initiatives, and create a culture of accountability and operational excellence. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Financial Leadership Develops and executes annual sales plans, labor budgets, and operating budgets. Reviews Profit & Loss statements and coaches Restaurant General Managers to improve profitability. Manages labor, food cost, controllable expenses, and overall restaurant financial performance. Coordinates capital improvement and repair & maintenance projects. Develops action plans to improve sales, profitability, and operational efficiency. Completes all required financial and operational reporting accurately and on time. Operational Excellence Ensures all restaurants consistently meet or exceed Taco Bell operational, food safety, cleanliness, hospitality, speed of service, and quality standards. Conducts routine restaurant visits to evaluate operational performance and coach restaurant leaders. Completes operational assessments and follows up on action plans. Ensures compliance with company operating procedures, health department regulations, and food safety standards. Maintains high standards for customer service and restaurant execution. Training & Development Ensures at least one restaurant within the area operates as a certified Training Restaurant. Partners with the Director of Training to ensure Restaurant General Managers, Assistant General Managers, Shift Leads, Team Trainers, and Team Members complete all required Taco Bell certifications and ServSafe requirements. Builds a strong internal leadership bench through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning. Develops Restaurant General Managers into successful business leaders. Guest Experience Responds promptly to escalated guest concerns and customer complaints. Reviews Voice of the Customer (VOC) results and develops improvement plans. Coaches restaurant teams to deliver outstanding hospitality and guest satisfaction. People Leadership Oversees management staffing, retention, succession planning, and leadership development. Conducts performance evaluations and provides ongoing coaching and accountability. Ensures hiring practices comply with company policies and employment laws. Identifies and develops future leaders for promotion opportunities. Builds a culture of recognition, accountability, and continuous improvement. Compliance & Risk Management Monitors internal audits, inventory controls, cash handling procedures, and restaurant security. Ensures all accidents, incidents, and workers' compensation claims are reported promptly. Maintains compliance with health department standards, food safety procedures, and company policies. Conducts investigations related to employee relations, cash handling, policy violations, and operational compliance in partnership with Human Resources. Leadership Leads monthly business reviews and area meetings. Coaches Restaurant General Managers to improve operational execution and financial performance. Supports the execution of national and local marketing initiatives. Promotes a culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Supervisory Responsibilities Responsible for the overall leadership, coaching, development, and performance of approximately 5-8 Taco Bell restaurants .
