Job Description
A well-established skilled nursing facility in the Fort Worth area is seeking an experienced Dietary Manager to lead the daily operations of our dietary department. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands long-term care, resident-centered dining, regulatory compliance, and effective department management. Responsibilities Oversee all daily dietary department operations, including food preparation, meal service, sanitation, and cleaning. Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and coach dietary staff. Ensure adequate staffing and efficient department operations. Oversee preparation and service of regular and therapeutic diets. Ensure physician-ordered diets, allergies, food preferences, and nutritional needs are followed. Partner with the Registered Dietitian, Nursing, and Administration to address resident nutritional needs. Monitor food quality, presentation, portions, temperatures, and resident satisfaction. Manage food ordering, inventory, receiving, storage, and food costs. Maintain accurate dietary records, logs, menus, production sheets, and required documentation. Ensure compliance with federal, state, health department, food safety, sanitation, and infection-control requirements. Maintain survey readiness and respond appropriately to regulatory findings. Conduct routine kitchen and dietary department inspections. Provide ongoing training and maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation. Address resident and family concerns regarding meals and dining services. Monitor employee attendance, performance, and compliance with facility policies. Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and efficient dietary department. Qualifications Previous Dietary Manager or Food Service Director experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility . Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) preferred. Strong knowledge of long-term care dietary regulations and survey requirements. Knowledge of therapeutic diets and food safety/HACCP practices. Previous supervisory or management experience. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to lead a team while maintaining a positive, resident-focused environment.
