This position works alongside the team while providing leadership, direction, coaching, and accountability to ensure guests receive fast, friendly service; food is prepared safely and consistently; production and service areas remain stocked and ready; and MAD Greens operational standards are maintained throughout the shift. Shift Leaders serve as the leader on duty when senior management is not present and are trusted with opening and closing responsibilities, shift deployment, cash controls, food-safety execution, product-quality standards, and team direction. Key Responsibilities Shift Leadership Lead assigned opening, closing, and operating shifts. Direct Team Members and assign positions and responsibilities according to business and production needs. Deploy Team Members effectively during peak travel and service periods. Maintain a visible leadership presence while actively working alongside the team. Monitor execution throughout the shift and provide immediate direction when standards are not being met. Conduct effective shift transitions and communicate important operational information to incoming leadership. Address routine operational and guest concerns and escalate significant issues when appropriate. Lead by example and maintain a positive, professional, and accountable work environment. Food Production & Operational Readiness Ensure appropriate food and ingredient levels are available to support anticipated business. Monitor prep completion, line readiness, ingredient availability, and product replenishment throughout the shift. Assist with food preparation and production when operationally necessary. Ensure recipes, portions, preparation procedures, and product-presentation standards are consistently followed. Monitor product quality and food temperatures throughout the operating day. Identify low-stock, production, waste, or quality concerns and take appropriate action. Help ensure the restaurant is fully prepared for each service period. Guest Experience Ensure guests receive friendly, fast, accurate, and professional service. Support Team Members during high-volume periods. Monitor order accuracy, speed of service, line execution, cleanliness, and overall guest readiness. Resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate significant complaints when appropriate. Demonstrate strong knowledge of MAD Greens menu items and service standards. Opening & Closing Complete and oversee assigned opening and closing procedures. Verify required opening and closing checklists are completed accurately. Ensure food-production, service, storage, and guest areas are clean, stocked, organized, and ready for operation. Maintain required leadership presence throughout assigned operating periods. Secure the restaurant according to established procedures at closing. Cash & POS Controls Follow and enforce established cash-handling and POS procedures. Support till setup, checkout, reconciliation, and required cash controls. Ensure cash and electronic transactions are processed accurately. Review and appropriately document voids, comps, vouchers, and other controlled transactions. Escalate cash discrepancies or unusual activity according to company procedures. Food Safety & Sanitation Ensure food-safety, sanitation, temperature-control, allergen, and cleaning standards are followed throughout the shift. Verify required food-safety and operational checks are completed and documented. Ensure proper product storage, labeling, FIFO rotation, and holding procedures. Monitor safe use of knives, kitchen equipment, chemicals, and other operational tools. Identify and communicate equipment, facility, product-quality, or safety concerns. Maintain compliance with company, brand, health-department, and applicable DFW Airport requirements. Team Development Train and coach Team Members on recipes, food preparation, guest service, food safety, and operational procedures. Provide real-time feedback and reinforce performance expectations. Support onboarding and training of new Team Members. Help identify strong performers and development opportunities. Promote MAD Greens values and a culture of teamwork, respect, accountability, hospitality, and fun. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old. At least one year of restaurant, foodservice, retail, hospitality, or customer-service experience required. Previous shift-lead, supervisory, high-volume restaurant, airport, cash-handling, or food-preparation experience strongly preferred. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead and motivate a team while also performing frontline operational duties. Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during high-volume service periods. Working knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to understand basic sales, inventory, waste, production, and operational information. Ability to safely operate applicable kitchen and food-preparation equipment. Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must successfully complete required employment and airport background screening and maintain required DFW Airport credentials. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, push, and pull throughout the shift. Ability to perform repetitive food-preparation and service tasks. Ability to safely work around hot equipment, sharp kitchen tools, refrigerated areas, and normal restaurant temperature changes. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Ability and willingness to perform prep, service, stocking, receiving, cleaning, and other operational responsibilities alongside the team. This position is responsible for maintaining MAD Greens operational standards and providing effective leadership whenever assigned as the leader on duty. Strong Shift Leaders may be developed for additional training, inventory, ordering, scheduling, and management responsibilities as the operation grows.
Pay:
$17.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
