Job Description

Tall Oaks is seeking an experienced and hands-on Director of Dining Services to lead dining operations for our assisted living and memory care community. Dining is an important part of each resident's day. The Director of Dining Services will lead the dining team in providing nutritious, appealing meals and friendly, attentive service. This position oversees staffing, menu planning, food preparation, inventory, sanitation, regulatory compliance, and departmental budgets. What You'll Do Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate dining services employees Oversee daily meal preparation and dining service Prepare meals and assist the culinary team when needed Ensure residents receive excellent service in a welcoming dining environment Plan nutritious, appealing menus based on resident preferences Coordinate Resident Food Committee meetings and respond to feedback Work with the Registered Dietitian to accommodate therapeutic and modified diets Order food and supplies, manage inventory, and maintain departmental budgets Ensure proper food preparation, storage, labeling, temperature control, and sanitation Maintain compliance with Virginia assisted living and food-safety requirements Make regular rounds during meals to speak with residents and monitor service Participate in resident care-plan meetings as needed Collaborate with other departments on celebrations, special events, and catering Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and dining environment What We're Looking For Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential preferred Current ServSafe certification or ability to obtain certification promptly At least three years of food-service or dining management experience Senior living, assisted living, memory care, or healthcare dining experience preferred Experience supervising, scheduling, and developing employees Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, therapeutic diets, and inventory control Experience with menu planning, purchasing, and budget management Strong leadership, organization, communication, and customer-service skills Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays Ability to stand for extended periods and lift food, supplies, and equipment as required Tall Oaks is an equal opportunity employer.

$80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
