OVERVIEW
Upstate Elevator is a Vermont-grown, family-owned, nationally loved cannabis company offering clean, natural ways to elevate your everyday. From CBD to THC and everything in between, our goal is to make feeling good feel better. We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Lead Cannabis Kitchen Assistant to support daily gummy production within our licensed cannabis manufacturing facility. This position works alongside the Kitchen Manager to ensure efficient production, consistent product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance. The Lead Cannabis Kitchen Assistant serves as the lead production operator during assigned shifts. Ability to work weekends is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support daily gummy production from ingredient preparation through packaging. Lead production activities during assigned shifts and assist in coordinating daily production schedules. Prepare formulations and ingredients while ensuring accurate dosing and batch consistency. Monitor product quality, including weights, appearance, texture, and homogeneity. Complete production records and batch documentation. Maintain compliance with all Vermont cannabis regulations, GMP standards, and food safety requirements. Enforce sanitation procedures and maintain a clean, organized production environment. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase production output. Communicate production or equipment issues promptly to the Kitchen Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS 1-3
years of experience in food manufacturing, commercial kitchens, or cannabis production. Supervisory or team lead experience preferred. Experience with gummy, confectionery, or food production is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized processes. Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to accurately complete production documentation. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Must be 21 years of age or older and able to pass all required background checks.
