Shift LeadEarn $19-$23+/Hour Base pay starts at $17/hour plus tips . We guarantee you'll earn at least $19/hour . If your hourly wage and tips don't reach $19/hour, we make up the difference. Many of our team members earn more than the guaranteed amount during busy shifts. The co-founder, Dave, a chef trained in Thomas Keller's Bouchon restaurant organization, came up with a simple process: take the best quality chicken, prepare the chicken in a proprietary brine, and after deep frying, top the most tender chicken in the world with one of seven signature spice blends. Summary The Shift Lead is responsible and accountable for leading restaurant operations during assigned shifts while providing excellent guest service, supporting and directing team members, maintaining food quality and safety standards, and ensuring the restaurant operates efficiently and successfully. The Shift Lead serves as a leader on the restaurant team and helps ensure that company standards, policies, procedures, and performance expectations are consistently followed. Duties The Shift Lead will maintain a fast speed of service, resolve questions and concerns of guests, support team members, and follow all safety and security procedures. In addition, they: Lead and support team members during assigned shifts to ensure smooth restaurant operations Follow the steps outlined in the DHC Training Program to learn new skills, duties, responsibilities, and leadership expectations Train, coach, and provide guidance to team members while identifying opportunities for additional training and development Communicate with the restaurant management team regarding team member performance, training needs, guest concerns, and operational issues Understand how each job responsibility impacts guests, employees, and overall restaurant operations Ensure guests are greeted, orders are accurately recorded, and food and beverages are served with a consistently positive and helpful attitude Answer guest questions and handle guest concerns and complaints professionally and calmly while resolving problems according to restaurant policy Work together with team members to prepare items on the DHC menu while following cooking instructions, safety procedures, and sanitary requirements Monitor food quality, preparation, portioning, and presentation to ensure DHC standards are consistently met Use and ensure the proper use of kitchen machinery/equipment such as ice cream dispensers, fryers, warmers, and other restaurant equipment Ensure restaurant cleanliness throughout the shift by clearing tables, sweeping and mopping floors, washing/sanitizing/disinfecting kitchen utensils and high touch-point areas, and servicing restrooms Monitor and maintain proper food, cash, and cost-control procedures Assist management with opening and closing procedures and ensure all required tasks are completed accurately Ensure team members are following company policies, procedures, uniform standards, food safety requirements, and other restaurant guidelines Maintain a neat and tidy appearance by wearing a uniform and adhering to the uniform policy Be performance-oriented and performance-driven; understand performance expectations and be aware of performance results Hold team members accountable to company standards and expectations in a professional and respectful manner Abide by the rules and direction given by the restaurant management team Job Expectations The Shift Lead will work productively in a fast-paced environment while interacting with guests, leading and supporting team members, and ensuring all assigned shift responsibilities are completed consistently and efficiently. In addition, they: Ensure that they abide by company policies and directives Support the goals, decisions, and directives of the restaurant management team Provide leadership and direction to team members during assigned shifts Contribute to a positive, respectful, and productive work environment Ensure the restaurant is properly staffed and organized during the shift and communicate staffing concerns to management Ensure team members are completing expected work during each shift consistently Communicate effectively with team members and management to resolve interpersonal and operational issues as needed Follow all company guidelines for food and cash controls Follow all cost-control guidelines to maintain and minimize restaurant costs Properly use and oversee the proper use of all products, supplies, equipment, and facilities Take initiative to identify and resolve operational issues before they negatively impact guests or the restaurant Set a positive example for team members through professionalism, attitude, work ethic, and guest service Requirements Current student or high school diploma/GED preferred Must be at least 16 years old Previous restaurant, customer service, or leadership experience preferred Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays Ability to stand for long periods of time and work in a fast-paced environment Positive attitude while conducting any and all duties Commitment to guest satisfaction Effective communicator with co-workers and the restaurant management team Ability to lead, coach, and motivate team members Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure Transportation & Accessibility Must have reliable transportation to work Must have telephone or other reliable method of communicating with supervisor and co-workers Hours Must be able and willing to work flexible hours, including opening and closing shifts This includes working weekends, nights, and holidays whenever necessary Skills & Abilities Excellent time management and organizational skills Strong people and guest-service skills Leadership and team-building abilities Ability to coach, train, and motivate team members Ability to look at restaurant operations from a guest's point of view Ability to take initiative and solve problems Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain a positive attitude and lead by example Able to stand for long periods of time Able to bend and stoop Able to work around heat Able to work around others in close quarters Able to lift 50-75 lbs. comfortably
