tldr: Looking for a shift lead at an ice cream store available afternoons/evenings/weekends.
Swanky Scoop is a premium ice cream store with locations in Woodinville and (soon) Moutlake Terrace. We are seeking a energetic, optimistic, and talented shift leader to join our Swanky Crew, primarily at the Woodinville location. As a Shift Lead at Swanky Scoop, you will be responsible for the food, service area maintenance, front of house staff, and customers during your shift. Shift leaders show a high level of multi-tasking, generous customer service, food safety, and a consistent high•energy. You will report to the Store Manager and Owner and be an integral part of the team.
Shift leads perform scooper duties•scooping ice cream, ringing sales, making waffle cones, milkshakes, sundaes, and cleaning. They have additional tasks as shift lead•stocking ice cream, serving as the resource for scoopers, counting cash, key holder responsibilities, and some inventory management. Shift leads work alone sometimes (during opening hours before the busy season starts in late spring), but may also lead a team of 1 or more scoopers.
Manage the POS system, handling cash, card payments, and balancing the till at the beginning and end of your shift.
Open and/or close the store, including preparing the store for the day, locking up at the end of the shift, and filing end of shift reports.
Oversee staff (scoopers) during your shift, assigning tasks (waffle cone making, scooping, cleaning, etc.) and providing support and guidance as required. Scooping and preparing ice cream menu items, ensuring that all products are of the highest quality and are presented attractively. Maintain a clean and tidy store, including cleaning dishes, tables, chairs, floors, and equipment. Ensure that all health and safety guidelines are followed, including food hygiene, and maintaining a safe work environment. Previous experience in a food handling, customer service and/or hospitality role.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
Be able to stand for long periods of time, lift 25-30 lbs (2.5 gallon tubs of ice cream), and carry out repetitive scooping motions. Loves ice cream, samples many flavors, and is committed to the customer's positive experience. Reliable, on time, and ready to hustle for every shift.
