Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Manager to join our team and lead our dietary services department. In this role, you will oversee daily kitchen operations while ensuring our residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals in a welcoming dining environment. The ideal candidate is an organized leader with a passion for food service, strong management skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional resident care.
Key Responsibilities:
Culinary Leadership Plan, prepare, and oversee the production of nutritious, high-quality meals while maintaining excellent presentation and portion consistency. Utilize standardized recipes and production systems to ensure efficiency and consistency. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop seasonal, holiday, and special event menus. Conduct daily pre-service meetings with dietary staff to review meal service expectations and priorities. Team Leadership & Development Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and mentoring dietary team members. Foster a positive, collaborative work environment focused on teamwork and excellence. Monitor staff performance and partner with Human Resources to address coaching and performance concerns when necessary. Provide ongoing education to ensure adherence to food service standards and best practices. Kitchen Operations & Regulatory Compliance Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Ensure proper food handling, labeling, dating, storage, and sanitation procedures are consistently followed. Monitor kitchen equipment and coordinate maintenance to promote safe and efficient operations. Maintain compliance with all food safety and infection control standards. Inventory & Cost Management Oversee food ordering, inventory management, and supply levels while maintaining budget expectations. Implement strategies to reduce waste and maximize cost efficiency. Ensure proper storage, handling, and use of chemicals and cleaning supplies in accordance with safety guidelines. Resident Experience Build positive relationships with residents by seeking feedback and continuously enhancing the dining experience. Coordinate and support themed meals, holiday celebrations, and special dining events. Participate in the Manager-on-Duty rotation as assigned.
Qualifications:
Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification or an Associate's degree in Food Service Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field. Previous experience as a Dietary Manager, preferably in a healthcare, long-term care, rehabilitation, or senior living setting. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations and dietary service operations. Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and enhancing the resident dining experience. Ability to lead by example while maintaining a positive, professional, and resident-centered approach.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
