Food Service/Kitchen Supervisor Position Overview Blessed Savior Schools is seeking a dependable, organized, and hardworking Full-Time Food Service Staff Member to join our East Campus kitchen team. This position is responsible for supporting the daily breakfast and lunch meal service for students and staff while maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and efficient kitchen. The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, can work independently, follows directions and food safety procedures, and understands that keeping a kitchen running smoothly requires attention to the details before, during, and after meal service. This is an active position that involves food preparation, serving, lifting and moving food and supplies, receiving deliveries, cleaning, organizing, and maintaining accurate meal service records. Key ResponsibilitiesBreakfast Service Prepare and set up breakfast for daily service. Serve breakfast to students and maintain an organized serving area. Prepare and package to-go breakfasts. Store refrigerated and dry-storage items in their appropriate locations. Clean and sanitize the kitchen and serving areas following breakfast service. Kitchen Organization & Preparation Prepare daily after-care snacks. Organize and maintain the walk-in cooler and dry storage areas. Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) food storage practices. Monitor expiration dates, particularly milk and other perishable items. Prepare trays, silverware, cups, water, and other materials needed for lunch service. Turn on and prepare the food warmer for lunch delivery. Set up daily lunch count sheets and required paperwork. Maintain an organized and efficient kitchen throughout the day. Food Delivery & Food Safety Receive and inspect daily food deliveries. Lunch Service Prepare the kitchen and serving area for multiple lunch periods. Serve lunch according to the daily schedule. Accurately track meal counts. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional serving environment throughout all lunch periods. Compare deliveries against the production sheet to ensure all ordered items have been received. Take and accurately record required food temperatures. Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, storage, and temperature-control procedures. Record remaining food quantities on the production sheet. Daily Documentation & Closing Procedures Ensure after-care snacks are prepared and available for pickup.
Qualifications Required:
Reliable and dependable attendance. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks throughout the day. Strong attention to cleanliness and organization. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate professionally with students, staff, delivery personnel, and supervisors. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, and move food, supplies, and kitchen equipment as needed. Preferred (but not required): Previous food service, school cafeteria, restaurant, catering, or commercial kitchen experience. Experience with food safety and sanitation procedures. Experience working with children or in a school environment. Serv Safe Certification Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is: Reliable and arrives ready to work on time. Self-motivated and able to stay productive without constant supervision. Organized and pays attention to where items belong. Detail-oriented , especially when completing meal counts, production sheets, temperatures, and food storage. Clean and safety-conscious . Team-oriented and willing to help wherever needed.
Pay:
$16.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 32.0 per week
