Position Overview Looking to start a career selling travel? Adelman Travel s Food & Wine Trails division is seeking a self-motivated, sales-driven, and customer-focused vacation agent who is passionate about travel and making their client s dream trip a reality. In this position you will make an impact by utilizing your exceptional customer service skills and learned travel industry knowledge to fulfill inbound leads for group travel services, domestic and international, for new and repeat clients. This full-time position is located at our Springfield, MO office. Adelman will consider hybrid and virtual opportunities for candidates with some previous experience. How You ll Contribute to Our Mission Tap into various resources to calculate costs and deliver travel reservations (air, car, hotel, packages, etc.) quotes. Elicit customer travel needs by way of thorough conversation and analyze procured information to provide client with the best available pricing. Supply customers with relevant information such as local customs, points of interest or foreign country regulations. Consult and assist in driving client sales and retention through exceptional customer service, building relationships and obtaining referrals; cross-sell additional products. Build, maintain, and update client profile including marketing preferences. Provide guidance and impart travel information to travelers, such as passport, visa, and inoculation requirements, customs regulations, and currency exchange rates. Facilitate payment process, maintain balances, and invoice reservations in compliance with company policy. Utilize various methods to stay current on industry training modules and events related to tour operators, cruise lines and destinations. What Makes You a Great Fit One plus years of excellent sales and customer service skills. Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to listen to and understand customer needs to offer the best solution. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively build relationships. Adaptable self-starter, who is organized and able to effectively prioritize projects, with a focus on attention to detail. Aptitude and ability to learn and familiarize yourself with travel industry process and terminology as well as with new and ever-changing technology. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel PowerPoint, and Outlook) Ability and willingness to travel occasionally, domestic, and international, to attend meetings, tradeshows, educational events, etc. High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required Core schedule is Monday to Friday between 8:00am to 5:00pm CDT
