1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Invasive Technical Operations Manager (EP) with EP lab management experience for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital's Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Details Manages the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory's EP program within a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital Department includes 4 EP labs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 3 EP labs on Wednesday Adult patient population for Electrophysiology Studies (EPS), Catheter Ablations (PFA, Radiofrequency, Cryoablation), and Concomitant Watchman Atrial Fibrillation procedures Oversees implantable device procedures including device and laser lead extractions, cardioversions, loop implants, pacemakers, defibrillators, biventricular devices, and leadless devices (Micra and Aveir) Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week Shift start by 0830 with flexibility based on daily workflow, and occasional late stays (approximately once per week) to ensure smooth operations Occasional weekend rounding on staff required No holiday coverage requirements No floating required Uses Epic EMR, Philips monitors and PACS, Cardio Lab hemodynamic system, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing Requirements Active RN license (Standard or Compact), NC or compact license required Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
If EP Tech:
BLS and ACLS required, plus ARRT-R or equivalent OR RCIS required (RCES preferred) Minimum 2 years of high acuity EP lab experience required At least 1 year of assistant manager, manager, or director experience required, preferably in EP Lab, though management experience in other departments will be considered Experience managing complex scheduling and diverse personality types required Strong communication skills and ability to foster physician relationships required Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required Additional Information Role is approximately 90% administrative with 10% hands-on lab support as needed Responsibilities include recruiting and retention strategy, supporting staff education, managing vendor partnerships (vendors present almost daily), and maintaining open communication with staff Coaches and mentors 2 direct-report supervisors, and collaborates with a Director, traffic flow coordinator, charge nurses, VAD team, RT, ECMO team, and code team Responsible for data reporting, tracking, and interpretation, as well as maintaining teammate files and competencies Fosters and maintains strong physician relationships, including regular communication with the Medical Director Department culture emphasizes patient-centered focus, interdisciplinary collaboration, technical excellence, continuous learning, safety, professionalism, and adaptability Orientation is at least 2 weeks, conducted alongside the Director RTO requires manager approval Hospital-provided scrubs and free parking included First-time travelers will be considered for this role No clinical interview required for this position Candidates must reside at least 50 miles outside the home unit to be eligible for this position, and local candidates are not accepted Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year following a permanent position before being eligible to return
