Duties Lead guided kayak tours along designated routes, providing engaging narration about local wildlife, geography, and history using storytelling techniques. Ensure the safety of all participants by conducting pre-tour safety briefings, demonstrating proper paddling techniques, and monitoring conditions throughout excursions. Manage tour groups effectively, including coordinating group logistics, maintaining a positive atmosphere, and addressing guest questions promptly. Assist guests with equipment fitting, safety gear checks, and providing instruction tailored to varying skill levels. Enforce safety protocols and wilderness safety standards; respond swiftly to emergencies with CPR or first aid as needed. Maintain accurate records of tour activities, guest attendance, and safety checks; prepare reports on daily operations. Foster rapport with guests by utilizing multilingual or bilingual skills to communicate effectively across diverse audiences. Skills Multilingual or bilingual proficiency to communicate with international guests confidently. Strong leadership abilities to guide groups safely while creating an engaging experience. Excellent public speaking and presentation skills to captivate audiences during storytelling segments. Proven tour guiding experience in outdoor or wilderness settings; familiarity with kayaking techniques preferred. Exceptional customer service skills to ensure guest satisfaction and handle inquiries professionally. Knowledge of wilderness safety practices, including CPR and first aid certification; ability to respond calmly in emergencies. Effective time management skills to coordinate tours efficiently while maintaining high energy levels. Outstanding communication skills for clear instructions and building guest rapport across diverse backgrounds.
