This includes greeting guests, understanding, promoting, and answering questions about all the Museum offers; selling tickets, memberships, and merchandise; and ensuring they are entering a clean, safe, welcoming, and well-kept environment. qualifications Strong customer service and cash handling skills, as well as computer experience required. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is preferred. Essential Functions of the Job Welcome and engage with museum visitors and guide them to accessing the building to get the most out of their visit. Effectively share accurate information on the museum's mission, history, collections, and exhibits. Actively promote events, programs, shows, and memberships. Efficiently respond to visitor questions and concerns. Initiate and complete sales transactions on the TAM POS System with a high level of accuracy, correctly counting back change for cash sales, and the ability to balance drawers at the end of the day. Perform cleaning tasks in the building include vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors; cleaning and disinfecting mirrors, doors, railings and other hard surfaces throughout the building; cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking restrooms; cleaning glass and dusting exhibit cases; and removing trash and recycling to outdoor containers. Ensure the building and walkways are free of debris and other hazards, including removing snow from walks. Job requires using appropriate cleaning tools and products to ensure all aspects of the building are clean and safe, and communicating damage and repair needs appropriately. Follow and enforce Hastings Museum's policies and procedures to ensure the safety of museum collections, property, and visitors. Ensure security using observation and surveillance systems. Report potential incidences of vandalism or theft to supervisor. Ensure Lied Theatre system is ready and operating correctly before each show. See job description for complete information.
